A former colleague who has settled in the Caribbean has invited me for a trip to Sydney then onto Queensland to visit the Great Barrier Reef. I took this to mean a long fishing trip along the coast, so I proceeded to prepare my gear. The Penn 965 went in first, of course. It is ideal for back bays and offshore fishing. It handles snapper and redfish fairly easily. While I through to bring the Penn 975 as well for larger fish, I expect the Penn 965 fishing reel would be what I would be using most of the time. Personally, the Penn 965 is my preferred gear. It’s lightweight and easy to cast – perfect for a casual trip along the waters of Australia’s east coast.
