Although there are many techniques that can be used to train a dog, certain tools are necessary in order to make the training work. You don’t necessarily have to invest a lot of money into such products, as some of them are very basic and inexpensive. Some dog training tools are very expensive, what we call “higher end” tools of the trade. So let’s take a look at a variety of devices that many dog trainers use to help them accomplish their goals faster.

Dogs often have biting, chewing and eating habits that can be destructive. It doesn’t matter if your dog wants to chew your shoes, a rug, furniture, etc, it’s annoying and it isn’t always easy to train dogs not to do this. One problem is that it often happens when no one is home, and it does no good to punish or reprimand a dog long after the action has been committed. There are things, however, that you can spray on whatever it is you want your dog to stay away from. Usually these sprays have a terrible taste that helps keep the dog away. They don’t necessarily smell bad to humans, so they can be used anywhere that there’s a chewing problem. Most all people who train dogs will use some sort of reinforcement as an aspect of their program. Central to this is using treats to reward good behavior. Are there some treats that are better to use than others when you are training your dog? One thing you should avoid is using table scraps, especially when you are eating, as this can give your dog a feeling of equality with you which is not good for training. You should use undersized treats that are especially delicious and can be eaten all at once. Treats should only be given during their training course, so they know it as an enticement. If you decide to use treats, be sure to reward them as soon as they have done what you have asked of them. The dog may not associate the treat with a job well done, if you wait too long to give it to them.

Have you heard of a dog whistle? It is a fantastic training device. Only dogs can hear this whistle, and when they do, it is a high pitch frequency that is heard.

You can find a frequency that your dog can hear the best and use that for your training. You can use the whistle to train your dog. You train your dog by emitting different tones from the whistle relating them to different commands. This way, they relate the whistle to the command. If you are training more than one dog, you should get a separate whistle for each dog so they can learn to respond to the right whistle. There are quite a few useful dog training tools available today. You can purchase these tools at pet stores locally; or perhaps online. The intent of these tools can vary from a specific type of purpose to a more general one that will accommodate most dogs and goals. Depending on what you would like your end result to be; you will need to use the correct tool in order to have a satisfactory conclusion. You can also look at personalized dog collars as another form of training tool for your dogs
